Welcome to “European Tasty Tales,” a podcast series that takes you on a delightful journey through the culinary landscape of the European Union!
Each episode focuses on a specific food or beverage from a European Union country, highlighting its unique qualities, traditional production methods, and how to enjoy it.
We offer three unique podcast experiences, each hosted by an expert with a deep passion for European food and drink.
Cheese with Madame Fromage: Embark on a 14-episode adventure with Tenaya Darlington, a renowned cheese educator better known as "Madame Fromage." This cheese maven—restaurant cheese director, author, and culinary travel guide—will take you on a global exploration, delving into the unique qualities, traditional production methods, and the art of savoring cheeses from around Europe.
Wine with Nicole Muscari: Uncork a world of discovery with Nicole Muscari, a French Wine Scholar, and a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Certified wine expert. Through her insightful commentary, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse and delicious wines produced in the European Union, such as how the unique terroir, the combination of climate, soil, and grape varietals like Sangiovese in Tuscany or Tempranillo in Rioja, shapes the character of each bottle.
Gourmet foods with Chef Adriana Urbina: Join Chef Adriana Urbina on a mouthwatering exploration of European cuisine. As a three-time champion of Food Network's “Chopped,” a media personality and a chef trained in Michelin Star restaurants in Spain, Adriana has a unique perspective on the vibrant flavors of Europe, weaving together food stories, culinary anecdotes, and insights into regional ingredients and characteristics to create a mouthwatering exploration of European cuisine.
Many of the specialties you'll hear about on European Tasty Tales have earned prestigious designations from the European Union. These labels, Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), ensure the authenticity and quality of these regional delicacies. PDO products, like Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, come from a specific region and follow strict traditional methods throughout the entire production process. PGI products, like Danablu cheese, have at least one stage of production tied to a specific geographical area. By seeking out these labels, you can be confident you're experiencing the true taste of Europe's rich culinary heritage.
